Error 133 appears?
Possible causes:
  1. This error happens when the wrong setting are put into the profile eg. wrong APN, user ID or password. Please check the settings for your SIM chip from your service provider.
  2. This error could happen if the provider has some problems with the network. If you are sure the profile settings are correct, please try every 10 mins for 30 mins. You may also try 3. below.
  3. Often the error could be due to the notebook or PC usage itself:
    1. If you had put the notebook or PC into hibernation without first disconnecting & then unplugging the HUSBM-1, the VigSys software could hang. When you restart the notebook, then try stopping & restarting the VigSys software – your notebook could misbehave and give you error 133. In situations like this, please do a cold restart of the notebook or PC.
    2. The proper way to shutdown the HUSBM-1 is to do a ‘Disconnect’, then unplug the HUSBM-1 before any hibernation or warm shutdown takes place. Doing it this way will ensure you can restart the HUSBM-1 easily after waking the notebook from hibernation.
  4. This error could be due to slow or non-response of the network
    1. If the VigSys software appears to have no network activity – users may attempt to click ‘disconnect’ on the software. If the network is slow, there could be no response for up to 60 seconds. Thereafter, the user could be tempted to shutdown the software or unplug the HUSBM-1 suddenly. Warning - DO NOT DO THIS! IT IS BAD FOR YOUR NOTEBOOK.
    2. The correct usage would be to wait up to 60 seconds for the proper disconnect to take place. Then click ‘Connect’ to see if you can reconnect to the network or not. If not, please try a cold restart of the notebook per 3(i.) above.
    3. If there is no Disconnection after 2 mins, please do a cold restart of the notebook. The notebook may hang and you may have to remove the battery to the cold reboot. The option of cold reboot via battery removal is not a good one as there is a slight chance some open files could be corrupted, so it is important the proper shutdown procedure in 3(ii.) is followed.

Why does my Wi-Fi connection keep on disconnecting, show low signal strength, or suffer from slow data transfer rate?

    1. Wi-Fi connections use radio-based technology. Thus, the signal strength (and data transfer rate) decreases when the distance between your wireless device and the router increases. Hence, try to move your wireless devices as near as possible to the router (recommended range is within 20m).
    2. The use of 2.4 GHz cordless phones, transmitters, or other wireless connections operating at the same frequency might affect the router’s signal strength. Changing the frequency channel of the router might help to improve your network’s signal strength, performance and reliability. Please refer to section “4.2.2.1 Wireless Settings” on how to change the frequency channel.
    3. Place the router at least 5-10 inches from the wall or any other objects.
    4. Avoid electromagnetic interference by placing the router at least 5 feet from electrical devices generating RF noise, such as television, microwave oven, etc.
    ^Top

Why am I unable to connect to the wireless LAN?
Check the LEDs on the top panel of the router. The “Power” and “WLAN” LEDs should be on.

If the LEDs are off, check the power connector and make sure the router is powered on properly.

If the LEDs are on, then open the wireless utility software which is located in the system tray at the bottom right of your computer screen. Look out for the list of “Available Networks”.

If your network name is listed in the “Available Networks”, click on your network name to connect to it. You will need to enter the WEP key if WEP encryption is enabled in the router. The WEP key can be found in the router’s webpage Basic > Wireless.

If your network name is not in the list, try to move your device (notebook) as near as five to ten feet to the router. If your network name does appear in the list this time, it means you have a signal interference problem. Please refer to section “2.3 Establishing the Best Location” for more information.

If your network name still does not appear in the list even after you have moved your device nearer, make a wired (LAN) connection between your computer and the router. Type “http://192.168.0.1” in your web browser and press “Enter”. Go to Advanced > Wireless and make sure the “SSID Broadcast” is enabled.

Replace the network cable with a crossover network cable (included in this package) and the problem should be solved.
